Thanks for all you've done for me and my campaign for City Council. The election results were both disappointing and reaffirming. Our solidarity and faithful execution of a campaign we are all proud of, is a victory in and of itself. Our campaigned raised important issues that resonated across the city. The critical support that you gave to our campaign has fortified me and galvanized my resolve to speak out and work for our city's under-served neighborhoods, senior citizens whose lifelong homes are now flooding and thousands of animals that are mistreated and euthanized by the very system, the Bureau of Animal Regulation and Care (BARC), that we have established to protect them.
Bob and I are energized and remain as devoted as ever to making a difference in our city. We will continued to be involved in the wonderful and diverse communities that make Houston a unique and extraordinary city to call home.
As you celebrate the holidays and the new year please keep both me and our new mayor in your prayers.
I'm already making plans to run again and will be back in touch soon.
Sincerely,
Dear Supporters and Fellow Houstonians,
Karen Derr
